image Our policy is to operate as a team to ensure the widest base of knowledge and experience possible. The team, headed by John Lacey, is made up of professional Health and Safety Practitioners.

Personal Service

Where possible we assign one member of the team to a particular clients work to ensure a personal service is given and that a known contact is always available.

All our Advisers carry mobile telephones to ensure that they can easily be contacted during the working day. Client companies are advised of out of hours telephone numbers so emergency cover is available at all times. We consider that it is an important part of our service that an experienced Health and Safety Adviser will be available to give help, support and advice in the event of an emergency.

Maintenance of Standards

Monitoring of site safety performance by auditing on a regular basis. The frequency depending on the size and complexity of the project and the individual requirements. The inspection audit is carried out with the Site Manager where specific advice and guidance is given and a written report produced. The Site Manager is required to complete an action column with details of his intended response to any health and safety issues raised. A copy of this report is sent by fax to the clients office (for the attention of the Contracts Manager responsible for the project) as soon as possible after the inspection with a hard copy sent by post to the clients operating office.

Another wing to our service is that of scaffold inspections and advice. We have already assisted the British Airports Authority, Willmott Dixon, WSP, Inspace, Barratt Homes and other London based clients, the complete scaffold inspection package assists managers to ensure that all statutory requirements are met. This service also has saved considerable amounts of money regarding checks on scaffold companies provision.

Company Up-dates

We are able to produce a monthly health and safety performance report based on the above audit system and reporting on the noted standards across companies projects. Some companies have adopted this document as their Directors Board Report.

Incident Investigation

A full emergency response service is available which will provide an experienced Health and Safety Adviser to carry out a full investigation into any incident/accident as soon as is possible. The investigation will detail the accident/incident (with photographs, statements etc.) and provides recommendations to prevent reoccurrence where relevant. Notification direct to the enforcing Authorities will be carried out as part of the investigation.

Pre Contract Assistance

We can provide input during the pre-contract discussions to ensure that hazards associated with the work are assessed for the overall risk potential to be identified and included in Safety Plans for the works proposed. We are also pleased to attend pre-contract meetings with clients working under your umbrella.

Training Providers

We can assist with the training of staff in all matters relating to health and safety, from Safety in Facilities Management to the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 through the whole spectrum of training to Plant / Machinery operation. We are registered with Construction Skills, CSCS and I.O.S.H. as accredited training providers and can therefore ensure that any training given is to a recognised national standard. Tailor-made courses can also be devised to suit client’s particular needs and can be held ‘in-house’ or at our offices. Grants are available which may be used to offset the cost of training courses where applicable.

Document Provision

Review and standardisation of documentation and site administrative systems are possible through the formation of site register folders and effective training in their use and completion.

We liaise with the various enforcing authorities on our client companies behalf and in many cases have formed very positive working relationships with individual members such as the H.S.E.
